WHY FRANCHI TALENTS DESERVES THE BEST DANCE CREW AWARD Franchi Talents was started with a purpose that goes beyond dance. We created the group to give young people, especially children and teenagers, something positive and productive to do after school and during school holidays. We noticed that many young people were getting involved in negative influences such as alcohol abuse, substance abuse, smoking, peer pressure, early marriages and teenage pregnancy, often because they had too much free time and lacked positive activities to keep them engaged. That is why Franchi Talents was created. Through dance, we have given young people a safe space where they can discover their talents, build confidence, learn discipline, work as a team and develop skills that can benefit them in the future. Over the years, Franchi Talents has helped many young people discover their potential. But what makes our impact even more meaningful is that the talent we developed did not stop with Franchi Talents. Some of the young people who came through Franchi Talents have gone on to start their own dance groups and continue representing the Ng’ombe community. Groups such as Thee Afrozi and Iconic Choreography are examples of what can grow when young people are given an opportunity, guidance and a platform to develop their talent. This is the legacy we are proud of. We are not only producing dancers—we are helping to produce leaders, choreographers, performers and young people who can create opportunities for others. Franchi Talents has also represented Ng’ombe through performances at weddings, festivals, church events, competitions, music projects and other community activities. Every time our dancers perform, we carry the name of Ng’ombe with us. For us, dance is more than entertainment. Dance is our platform for youth development. Dance is our way of keeping young people focused. Dance is our livelihood, our passion and our opportunity to build a better future. Winning the Best
